I first interacted with Julia Connolly one morning in mid October. I was out for a little ride just to clear my head. I saw a sign declaring a house for sale. Interested and knowing that I would have to move soon , I called the number on the sign. Shortly I was speaking with Julia Connolly. She introduced herself and inquired about my interest. I told her my situation and what I thought I was looking for. She listened quietly and then broke the news that the house I was inquiring about was not for me. She convincingly and in detail told me how this house did not match the needs that I had given her. In doing so she convinced me that she was an attentive and accurate listener. I liked that. Of course she offered to help me find a better fit. I paused to think. I had no reference for her and I had not intended to start a serious search yet. But I liked the fact that I had called her about potentially buying a house and she had put my needs first by talking me out of it. I certainly had not expected that. I gave her my email address. In a few hours I had six suggestions. We went house hunting. Fortunately for me the first house we investigated was more of a fixer upper than I wanted. Still we went through it in detail. I began to think of Ms Connolly , not as a sales person, but as a buyer advocate. She was as skilled an observer of the houses as she was a good listener. Now I was comfortable. She had my trust. Soon we found the house for me. It was time to make an offer. The next obstacle was that the inventory of houses for sale was low and the prices were high. I asked her what she thought it was going to sell for. I am cheap and the number she gave me was not what I was hoping for. I told her that I wanted to think about it and I would call her in the morning with my offer. I went online and studied recent sales and reluctantly admitted to myself that she was probably right and it turned out that she was. I got the house without spending one extra penny (of course that can’t happen every time). She would continue to give me good advice and surround me with strong, capable support. Julia Connolly is a knowledgeable, personable, professional who has pleasurably kept me on course through the sometimes complex and confusing process of buying a house. I am a fan. If you work with her, I suspect you will be too.
